After School Group Lessons

Specializing in Hunter/Jumper and Hunt Seat Equitation

Hunters Chase Farms is well-known throughout the Texas Hill Country as one of the finest riding schools around. We teach English riding and specialize in Hunter/Jumper and Hunt Seat Equitation. We teach students age 5+, beginner-advanced levels to ride and care for their horses safely in the arena, the mini cross country course, on the trail or in barn lessons. Our lessons take place rain or shine (unless it is severe weather–you can find updates in our parent GroupMe).

Lessons are approximately 2½ hours and may include catching horses, grooming, tacking up and untacking, horse care, cleaning tack, arena riding, trail and field lessons, groundwork, games, horsemanship, stable management, and barn responsibilities. Not every lesson is mounted. Groundwork is an essential part of becoming a knowledgeable and confident rider. Good horsemanship and teamwork are stressed in all of our lessons and are a big part of our program.

Private Lessons

Text Marley (512) 571-2689 for private lesson availability. Fridays, Saturday mornings, and Sunday mornings are typically best. We do private lessons for ages 5+ from working/retired adults that cannot participate in our after school lesson program to kids that want the one-on-one time to work on their skills. Great intro for new students, but not required.

Pricing

$100 cash per lesson per person. Consists of 30 mins of catching your horse, grooming, tacking up; 1 hour ride, 30 mins untacking, grooming, bathing, putting horse away, and quickly cleaning your saddle.

Competitive Horse Shows

Join our competition team where we compete against other teams across the region.

Many of our riders also participate in ribbon-filled horse shows, sponsored by our barn and other affiliated organizations. These are competitive and exciting opportunities for our riders and horses to show their skills. We have a competitive Horse Show Team which consists of committed individuals who spend the year showing and representing Hunters Chase Farms. They attend horse shows all over Texas and occasionally across the country. Text Marylaura (512) 785-0120 for more information.

Hunters Chase Farms horse shows are an important part of the learning experience and are strongly encouraged, although not required. Shows build confidence, sportsmanship, responsibility, and goal setting while allowing riders to apply the skills learned in lessons.
